TESTIMONIALS | What a fantastic experience!! We have always considered our home a major investment, and were quite dismayed to notice paint peeling off an isolated portion of our second floor trim. We suspected that moisture was accumulating in our attic crawl space, but due to a medical condition, I was unable to investigate the situation myself. I called the Syracuse Home Builder’s Association to ask if they knew of anyone that would take the time to check out our problem. They immediately recommended Steve Khanzadian Construction, noting that Steve loves to solve problems. I recognized the name (I had heard Steve answer some pretty complex questions on The Home Repair Workshop, a local radio show), and I immediately thought he couldn’t possibly have time to tackle my situation. But I called his office and was pleasantly surprised (actually, I was ecstatic) when he returned my call within a few hours. (I have had problems in the past with other contractors NEVER returning my calls). I learned that Khanzadian Construction performs handyman services, as well as full remodeling work.
Steve determined that birds had nested in the bathroom vent ducting, completely blocking them (one was ripped to shreds). So, the moisture from the bathrooms was venting directly into the attic. He repaired the ducting, attached bird guards to the outside vents, and had them working properly within a couple of hours (no small feat considering the fact that the ducting ran about twenty feet in one bathroom and the other has a stepped ceiling….. did I mention the blown-in fiberglass insulation). This is about the amount of time it would have taken rescue workers to pull me back up through the hole in the bathroom ceiling. He then completely scraped, primed and painted the damaged trim. I think it was at about this time that we asked Steve if he wanted to move in because we had quite a few smaller projects that needed to be done. The following day Steve installed a deadbolt lockset in the garage including reinforcing the frame, adjusted three outside steel doors and thresholds to eliminate drafts. As if this weren’t enough, we asked about some of our double paned vinyl windows that were fogged. He determined the name of the manufacturer, made a quick phone call, told us that the windows were still under manufacturer warranty, and provided a number to call to file a claim for replacement.
What really impressed us was that Steve took the time to patiently and expertly answer all of our repair and remodeling questions, even though we were just having some smaller jobs done. He even gave us some practical advice on prioritizing energy saving projects based on payback years. All this, and more at an extremely fair and reasonable price. You can tell when someone enjoys and takes pride in their work, and respects their customers. Steve Khanzadian does, and we will definitely use Khanzadian Construction for all of our home repair and remodeling projects in the future.
